''A key requirement from our client is to preserve the unique character of the locally listed building and its external and internal design features. We are developing a specific workflow to allow for the production of the existing BIM model from the E57 Point Cloud without compromising the design and  coordination processes. As part of this workflow, we are using our bespoke Cloud Tool to process efficiently the point cloud survey with Archicad and create the digital twin of the existing built asset.''

Jaime Ingram . BIM Lead

The project consists of the 3D modelling, coordination and BIM data management for the retrofit and extension of a locally listed building following ISO 19650 protocols to provide 7 luxury apartments in the existing building and 2 new build heritage-led semi-detached houses.

Our client for this project are Yellow Brick Estates (https://ybestates.com/) a forward thinking developer involved in a number of projects in and around London and Harlequin Brickwork (https://www.harlequinbrickwork.co.uk/) an experienced and innovative contractor.

We are contracted as BIM and Archicad experts to coordinate the design in 3D with the project team working in different authoring platforms.

We work alongside an experienced and diverse team using different software. The team includes:

airc.design (Architect - Archicad), engineeria (Structural, Civil - REVIT), Harlequin (MEP engineering - CAD), Harlequin (Landscape Contractor - CAD) and Harlequin (Contractor - 2D CAD PDF).

As part of the team, we are delivering the project from RIBA Stages 1 to 6 with completion expected in 2025.

All 2D and 3D information including the full architecture construction set are / will be extracted from the Archicad 3D BIM model we are developing.

Cloud Tool available there

Our Cloud Tool allows you to easily manipulate point clouds in Archicad. Using CloudTool you will be able to show the point cloud origin for setting out, create contour level lines, create a cutting box, create a cutting polygon, label perimeter, area and segments, and animate the cutting box. It is available there: www.airc.market/002-cloud-tool
